As much as I love Vanderpump Rules and Sheana Shay, that girl is crazy with the botox! I know she just does it preventatively but I think that we should just take care of the skin we have. I think a lot of girls transitioning from high school and college into adult life forget that they need to start taking care of their skin cause youth only lasts so long. Honestly, the sooner the better.. So do it now and do it consistently! You’d rather work preventatively than trying to remove things that already exist.
I’m going to start by talking about my nightly routine because it feels so good to go to bed with a clean face. It makes me feel fresh and peaceful which is a great way to get ready for bed!
Step 1: Clean Slate
Always start with a clean face! A good cleanser will remove all make up and all of the dirt and grime faced during the day. I always feel squeaky clean after using Peter Thomas Roth’s Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel. A fresh face makes for an effective palette for all of the products you are about to apply.
Step 2: Eye Serum
I like to start with my eyes. I apply my retinol eye serum in an attempt to prolong hints of wrinkles, potential loss of elasticity and sagging. Dr. MURAD’s Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum is obviously made specifically for eyes and is also known to reduce physical appearance of existing wrinkles and fine lines around eyes!
Step 3: Face Serum
I apply my Retinol Youth Renewal Serum to the rest of my face, for the same preventative purposes as my eye cream.
Step 4: Eye Cream
In addition to the retinol serum, I apply an eye cream that works on puffiness, dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles. This IT product also adds an awesome amount of moisture, which I can’t ever get enough!
Final Step: Face Moisturizer
Okay, before you click on this link and your jaw hits the floor.. This is a more expensive moisturize (so here are some more affordable faves: Glow Recipe + Origins) but currently I am loving and enjoying the benefits but mainly the moisture of TATCHA’s Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery Cream. It does a great job reducing redness and giving my skin life!
I’m sure there are other steps I could add but this is something I can maintain every night without feeling too overwhelmed and still getting great benefits! I always try and link from Sephora because no matter the reason, if you don’t care for the product, you can return or exchange it!
**disclaimer** my skincare may not be the right answer for your skin, these are what I find to work for my unique skin. I feel oily by the end of the day, dry around my nose, some redness, some uneven skin tones, sometimes have a monthly blemish, etc. So my suggestion, if you don’t know your skin is, start taking note. Try new products. Ask someone at Sephora or Nordstrom to help find products that are right for you! We all deserve to feel beautiful in confident in our skin!
I encourage you to take care of your skin! Believe me, you and your skin will be happy with the results!! Let me know your favorite nightly skin care products because I love trying new brands! & Be on the lookout for my daytime skincare routine!
